EMG sensor ref pin

Postby Ray_bit » Wed Oct 26, 2016 12:34 pm

Hello, I have a question regarding ref pin of the EMG sensor (not the electrode ref, but the pin on the Vcc and GND side of the PCB. On the data sheet, it's labelled with Vcc/2).
I am using the EMG sensor to an Arduino, I connect the Vcc of the EMG sensor to 3.3 V on Aruino, do I still need to connect this ref pin to 1.65 V or leave it suspended?

Hi there,

That pin needs indeed to have VCC/2 (ideally 1.65V) connected to it, otherwise the sensor won't work properly.

You can provide that voltage either using a resistive voltage divider or from a voltage regulator (if you have the chance).

There is an example available in the link below, with suggested resistor values. If you have further questions, let us know.
