EDA test - needs vigorous activity

Postby mvallance » Mon Oct 30, 2017 7:22 am

When doing a EDA test in our constructed Bitalino device (Revolution BLE/ Freestyle), we obtain data in OpenSignals. However, I have to do a vigorous activity to make the graph appear as peaks and valleys. When I stop, the graph reverts to a relatively flat line.
The point is, the data acquisition appears to be quite extreme: if I do a relatively medium activity (like walking on the spot) I get no data shown.

We have connected/reconnected device, and even re-soldered our board. We use Bitalino pre-gelled electrodes.

Can you advise where I should be troubleshooting? Thanks.

Hi there,

First of all we'd like to thank you for your preference for BITalino. How and where are you placing the electrodes?

We have a few guidelines on the following thread of our forum and also on the data sheet:

That's a good starting point. Thank you. We had success with ECG sensors. See image attached.

Though now we need to try EDA sensors.

If you have the chance, please send us a couple of photos of your existing setup... the ECG signal should look a bit differently also.

This is the OpenSignals connection.

the ECG signal should look a bit differently also.

In what way should it be different?

Thanks.

The amplitude of the peaks should be higher... you can see an example here:
http://bitalino.com/datasheets/REVOLUTION_ECG_Sensor_Datasheet.pdf

Nevertheless, it may also be related with the scale of the signal.

We'll check this. Thank you.
