Set digital input via keyboard?

Postby Marius » Mon May 29, 2017 9:57 am

Hi everyone,

we're using the Bitalino in psychological research settings with our students. Right now, we are using a push-button connected to a digital input port to place markers in the data (beginning of experiment, stimulus onset, ...). For some settings, when our participants are wearing the device attached to their belt, that's not a very convenient option. Is there a way, e.g. via keypress, to place such markers directly in OpenSignals? In the manuals, I did not find such an option.

Cheers!

Hi Marius,

In principle you should already be able to do that... assuming that you are using OpenSignals, slightly above the Overview Window you'll see an area labeled "DIGITAL".

To the right of the label you will see an indication mentioning "OUTPUT", next to which there are two gray circles. By pressing those circles you will activate the O1 & O2 digital outputs.

The sate of the O1 & O2 in turn is recorded together with the raw data on file (columns 4 & 5). If you review the data (using the "Play" button on the main interface), you should see this on-screen as channels O1 & O2.

Hope that you find this information useful. Let us know how these pointers work out for you and if you have any further questions just let us know.

FYI we should be releasing a new feature soon, where it will indeed be possible to make annotations (of different types event) using keyboard shortcuts.

Best regards,
The BITalino Team

Hi,

that's perfect, thanks! Sure, keyboard would (or will be) even more comfortable, but for now it's good to know that the option is there already.

Cheers!
Marius
