Distortion sources

Postby endeef » Thu Jul 06, 2017 10:02 am

Hello,

I'm having some trouble with getting signals of consistent quality, at times even within the same session, so I'm pretty sure external distortion might be to blame here.
In your experience, what are the main sources of distortion altering the received signals quality?

Hi there,

Generally the most common sources are power line noise, motion-induced artifacts, problems in the skin-electrode interface (e.g. due to worn out electrodes), and incorrect sensor placement.

If you send us a screenshot of the signals you are in doubt about we may be able to provide some additional insights as to what (if anything) may be affecting your recordings.

Best regards,
The BITalino Team
