Connecting Freestyle blocks

Postby mtbhomer » Wed Apr 22, 2015 6:33 am

Hi everybody,

Yesterday I received my Freestyle kit. And I'm trying to get a basic configuration with the EDA sensor up and running. I connected the pin-outs, but the system doesn't turn on. This is how I connected it:

Code: Select all

DGND (Power unit) - DGND (MCU)
DVCC (Power unit) - DVCC (MCU)
AVCC (Power unit) - AVCC (EDA)
VSS (Power unit) - VSS (EDA)
AGND (Power unit) - AGND (EDA)
A2 (EDA) - A2 (MCU

I checked the forum, there seems to be a topic describing the connection procedure for Freestyle: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=109
But it's old, and unfortunately the link in the topic is dead.

Hope somebody can help me out. Thank you!

Hi there,

You need to connect AVCC & AGND to the MCU also.

AVCC also powers the MCU in order to prevent current consumption peaks on the Bluetooth module from introducing noise in the analog data.

Let us know in case you have any additional questions.

Best regards,
The BITalino Team
