Only one Usage of Each Socket Address is Normally Permitted

This exception will be presented to you in your native Windows language and if you’re using a BITalino. The problem (and solution) is similar to The Communication Port does not exist or it is Already Being Used:

Hi

I get this error when trying to connect bitalino from open signals software (windows 7 ultimate).
I followed all the links to reated posts (re-pair device, change Intel BT driver to MS generic driver, etc.), I have no other bluetooth device around, and still cannot fix it.

Any idea about what may be going on?

Best regards,

Guillaume Lopez

Hi Guillaume,

That exception is usually triggered when a connection is attempted to the same device. Turning the device OFF and ON again or re-pairing (which forces the connection to be closed) usually solves the issue, but if you already tried that so I'll need a little extra information.

Are you using a Bluetooth Dongle or your internal Bluetooth? (a Print-Screen of you Device Manager would be helpful).
Did you already added the BITalino to the software?

Thank you for your prompt answer.
I am using internal Bluetooth with settings as shown on screenshot (COM 02).
The Bitalino is detected but cannot add it to the software.

Best regards,

Hi Guillaume,

Your BITalino is not displaying a Bluetooth Function as it should, since the connection is done over Bluetooth, not Serial COM.

Please try this:

- Remove your BITalino from "Devices and Printers".
- Open OpenSignals.
- Search for Devices.
- Click on your BITalino.
- Pay attention for a dialog stating "A device is trying to connect" and enter the pairing code 1234.

Let me know if it works.

Hi

I followed the steps you listed, but I still get the same result.
The BITalino properties>hardware are not displaying a Bluetooth Function (only the COM Ports).
I tried with both Intel Bluetooth 4.0 drivers and Microsoft Generic Bluetooth Adapter for my Internal Bluetooth.

Hi Guillaume,

Did you get to pair the BITalino?
Was the BITalino added to the software? (can you change the configurations?)
Did you try to acquire? Can you? If not, what's the returned exception?
What machine are you running?

Leave the Generic Bluetooth Adapter as your Bluetooth Driver.
